ClassEx (“we”, “us” or “our”) operates the website classex.co.uk and its associated subdomains including languages.classex.co.uk, tutors.classex.co.uk, media.classex.co.uk and services.classex.co.uk.

Depending on how you use ClassEx we may collect:
From AI Tutor users:
- Voice input converted to text (processed in your browser — we do not record your voice)
- Conversation transcripts stored temporarily for quality improvement
- Email address if you join our waiting list
- Browser localStorage data (usage counter, donor status, conversation history) stored on your device only
From course students (languages.classex.co.uk):
- Name and email address
- Payment information (processed by PayPal or Flutterwave — we never store card details)
- Course enrollment and progress data
- Certificate completion records
From Ko-fi supporters:
- Email address provided when you contact us for an access code
- Ko-fi handles all donation payment data — we do not receive your payment details
From website visitors:
- IP address and browser information (via standard server logs)
- Pages visited and time spent (via Google Analytics if enabled)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve our AI tutor service
- Process course enrollments and payments
- Issue course completion certificates
- Send waiting list notifications
- Send Ko-fi donor access codes
- Respond to your support requests
- Analyse how our platform is used to improve it
3. Payment Security
All payments on ClassEx are processed by PayPal or Flutterwave. We do not store your card details or banking information on our servers. Please refer to PayPal’s and Flutterwave’s own privacy policies for details on how they handle payment data.
4. Data Stored on Your Device
Our AI Tutor stores the following data in your browser’s localStorage:
- Your daily conversation count
- Your selected language and proficiency level
- Your conversation history (last 6 exchanges)
- Your donor status (if you have entered an access code)
This data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s localStorage or clicking the Clear button in the AI tutor.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share limited information with:
- Payment processors (PayPal, Flutterwave) to process transactions
- Course instructors (your name and enrollment status only)
- Legal authorities if required by law
6. Cookies
Our website uses cookies to:
- Keep you logged in to your account

ClassEx is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information please contact us immediately at admin@classex.co.uk.
10. Third Party Links
Our website contains links to third party websites including Ko-fi, PayPal and Flutterwave. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these websites. Please review their privacy policies before providing them with your information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
